The NanoPi R2S mini router has a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core Cortex-A53 Rockchip RK3328 SoC, Dual Gbps Ethernet, 1GB DDR4 RAM, edge-computing support. The box includes a CNC metal case that has cutouts to supports most connectors and interfaces of the NanoPi R2S mini-router. A 30cm long USB-C cable is also included. The NanoPi R2S also has the RK805 PMU chip. This mini router also supports dynamic frequency scaling. The USB 2.0 Port on this board supports USB HD cameras, USB WiFi modules, and USB 4G modules, etc. For power input, the NanoPi R2S has a Type-C USB port compatible with 5V / 2A power supply. This mini-router has been programmed to work with UbuntuCore, Ambian, and FriendlyWrt, etc. These software suites are based on Linux-5.4 with Long Term Support. NanoPi R2S uses the TF card for boot purposes. The mainline versions are also supported by OpenWrt.

Dual Gbps Ethernet Ports

The NanoPi R2S has dual Gbps Ethernet ports (WAN and LAN). The WAN port is the direct extension from the SoC whereas the LAN port is a USB3.0 conversion. The TX and RX rates of both Gpbs Ethernet interfaces are the same, i.e., 941 Mbps.
