The NanoPi M4 microcontroller now comes with an upgrade, NanoPi M4V2. Most of the hardware specifications and software compatibilities are the same on both Single Board Computers but the M4V2 has a 4GB LPDDR4 (dual-channel) RAM instead of the 2GB DDR3 on the previous version. NanoPi M4V2 also has two new buttons including a Power Button and a Recovery Button. In addition, the M4V2 microcontroller has RK808-D PMIC Power Management Unit that supports RTC Wake-Up, System Sleep Mode, and Software Power-Down. It also has the cooperated independent DC/DC and DVFS enabling features. The form factor of this microcontroller resembles the form factor and interfaces of Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. NanoPi M4V2 is an 8.5cm x 6.6cm SBC that contains 4x USB 3.0 (Type-A), 2.4G and 5G compatible dual-band WiFi / Bluetooth module, Gbps Ethernet port, HDMI 2.0 (Type-A), 3.5mm Audio Jack, Type-C Port, and 40-Pin GPIO that is compatible with Raspberry Pi. There is an eMMC socket on NanoPi M4V2 but it does not have an eMMC module. You could boot the DDR4 RAM with the external eMMC module. The other option to boot the 4GB RAM is the TF Card. NanoPi M4V2 microcontroller also features a dual MIPI-CSI camera interface, 2x PCIe, an RTC port, and a USB 2.0.
