These days, the industry seems to favor the smaller and even the smallest solutions, on the scale of size-performance ratio. Or you may conclude that the smaller size carries more weight over bulky or large products. The Arduino Micro complies with the modern standards, not only in terms of size but also in terms of performance and functionality. This board makes it easier to connect various external devices to add different features necessary for advanced development projects. The Arduino Micro comes with the impressive ATmega32U4. The built-in USB takes the board one step further as it helps the board to behave as a plug&play device.

Arduino Micro Specifications

Arduino Micro Description

It is quite surprising to know that the Arduino Micro carries just 13-grams, which equals the weight of the Mega Proto Shield Rev3. The microcontroller is fully supported by the flash memory and SRAM. It only takes the connection over micro-USB to bridge the board with a computer. As far as the form factor is concerned, it is well suited for the projects requiring a breadboard. This board is quite similar to the Arduino Leonardo. The ability to behave as a plug and play device gives the Arduino Micro an edge over previous Arduino releases.
